Its relatively low bulk density allows it to be installed as an extensive option on most roofs. It is also an environmentally friendly product, composed entirely of recycled material. This Lightweight Roof Topsoil’s sandy loam texture improves handling, even in adverse weather conditions. This Extensive substrate is designed for the planting of sedum schemes. It should be laid at a minimum depth of 80mm and directly on to a drainage board. Extensive Green Roof Substrate meets and exceeds all present G.R.O. guidelines. Lightweight Intensive Roof Topsoil PRODUCT DETAILS The AHS INL1 Lightweight Intensive is a blend of 4-10mm LECA (lightweight expanded clay) and selected materials that has been designed to contain a greater proportion of organic matter and finer sand particles. This allows the substrate to retain more moisture for longer periods of time but is free draining, as well as providing extra nutrition for plants. Ideal for intensive green roof installations, balcony planting and podiums, this substrate provides a stable growing medium for a wide variety of plants, including green roof lawns, shrubs and trees.
